Chief Black Kettle was a leader of the Southern Cheyenne who was killed by General Custer in 1868. Quite what he has to do wth Koobas Band of the Month for June, I have no idea. What I can tell you is that Boston indy rockers are receiving a fair amount of play on Kooba right now. It might be the killer hooks, the sing-song vocals that disguise the darker subject matter of the songs but their self titled EP is all killer and no filler. They re-located to LA last year to record it at Sound City Studios, and might just have the teeth to make it huge on the West Coast. Whatever – they have us convinced.
