On Air Myles

So There It Was, Merry Christmas…

Season’s greetings and all that. I imagine you’ve all finished off the last of your turkey and other roasts; us Kooba lot certainly have. As usual during this time of year, there were a whole load of Chritsmas songs emailed to Kooba Radio and the way these things go, with songs being sent to Kooba right up ’til Christmas Eve and us Kooba people taking well deserved breaks from this busy hectic world; we didn’t really manage to put up many (if any) Christmas songs in time for the 25th

So to extend the Yuletide festivities, here are a whole bunch of Christmas songs sent to Kooba that are worth having a listen to:

Geena B & her Valentines – Christmas (The Day Before):

Geena B had this song to contribute to the festive period.

Blabbermouth – Christmas Time In London Town:
A Kooba favourite, Blabbermouth gave this as Christmas offering with a video that is part heart warming, part bemusing and all Blabbermouth.

Red Zoids – Merry Motherf***ing Christmas:

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

Red Zoids brought out a Christmas EP which has been free to download with the hope that listeners would donate money to Samaritans.

Manchester Based artist ortoPilot: released 25 performed and produced videos in 25 days comprising of his pick from previous Christmas number 1 covers and other festive tunes.
Here just one of them:

Sofia Talvik – Santa:

Andy Kim – Whatever Happened To Christmas:

Andy Kim has been promoting this swooning soft rock tune for all those who have wanted to be in a downbeat mood during Christmas. Made with Ron Sexsmith, Andy released this a few years ago.

Natalie McCool – At Christmas Time (With Friends Around):

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

In contrast, Natalie McCool provided this jaunty little number to perk people up.

Jack Palance (produced by Laurie Z) – The Night Before Christmas:

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

For all the traditionalists out there, a few years ago Laurie Z managed to get the now late actor Jack Palance to record The Night Before Christmas and Laurie sent this to Kooba to have a listen.

The Library Suits – Christmas Retreat:

A cheeky little blast from the past, The Library Suits released this Christmas 2008. It’s always worth another listen.

See you all in the new year listeners!

Jonny

Massive fan of the Library Suits track – we played it on our Xmas clip show last year. Brilliant work. Blabbers is awesome as usual – and a couple of new names up there too.

And Jack Palance on Kooba – fantastic!

I love that in our particular corner of the universe, it’s not just Kooba that gets excited about the festive season – but all of the bands put that extra effort in as well.

Well done everyone!

Wayne

Jack Palance on Kooba is fantastic indeed! That one’s going
to be hard to top unless you find a holiday recitation by Robert
Mitchum! Happy New Year, Koobas!
