Please Don’t Eat Us – Dinosaur Planet

11 January 2012

Ah 2012, nice to meet you. Something tells me we are going to have fun together. Let’s get started, shall we?

What better way to begin our recommended tracks of 2012 than with a cut from MJ Hibbett’s long awaited rock opera Dinosaur Planet (ah-oooh ah-oooh).

“What’s that, oh well that’s different…
No you can’t look in the kitchen!”

Please Don't Eat Us
(by MJ Hibbett and the Validators. Vocals by Tim Eveleigh and Claire Gibb)

We trailed the release of the album version of MJ’s acclaimed Edinburgh show back in November, and the final finished CD arrived on my door mat just after Christmas. It is LOVELY and is a joy to listen to. Recommended for long car journeys or as a birthday present for a dinosaur obsessed nephew – two target markets that MJ Hibbett has (knowingling or unknowingly) exploited to the full.

It must be said that I was immensely proud of my two comrades who contributed their distictive vocal tallents to this disc:

1 – My heterosexual life partner Jonathan Yes, who dons his Richard Burton trousers as the album’s narrator.

And…

2-  Kooba alumni CLAIRE GIBB who voices General Muriel Truelove and SINGS on this track. As far as I know this is her singing debut, although you wouldn’t know it to listen to this performance. Well done Gibbo!

Here is a photo of Claire and Jonny recording their parts.

This isn't really them.

“Some people have suggested that it may have an UNDERLYING POLITICAL MESSAGE re: human diet choices. I’m sure I don’t know WHAT they mean…”
